You must ensure that your name of record with us matches your name exactly as it appears on your current, unexpired passport. Your name of record will appear on your Standard ECFMG Certificate once you have met all requirements for certification. You must use this name consistently in all communications you send to us, including applications and requests for other services. Failure to use your name of record consistently in all communications with us may delay your application/service requests. It may also prevent you from taking an exam for which you are registered and scheduled.
You can check your name of record via MyIntealth. If the name in your record does not match your name exactly as it appears on your passport, you must follow our established process to request a change in your name of record. See Changing Your Name in Your Record.
Important Note: You are responsible for maintaining a current name of record with us and with FSMB. Changing your name with one entity will not automatically update your name with the other entity. Please refer to FSMB for more information on its process for changing your name.
If the name on your medical diploma, transcript, or other credential does not match exactly the name in your record, you must submit documentation, as described in Verifying Your Name in Medical Education Credentials, that verifies the name on your medical diploma, transcript, or other credential is (or was) your name.
